Animal & Play Assisted Therapy & Training
Noah's Ark Family Project is a dynamic therapy and training provider with an aim to support children and families who have experiences trauma and to help professionals working with children and families to gain new skills in daily interaction and activities as therapy providers. Based in the county of Cornwall, we run many of our training programmes regularly in the South West of England but can provide training throughout the UK.
In addition to servicing clients as a bespoke therapy provider, our therapy training objectives include helping parents, child carers and workers to build better relationships with the children and young people they work with. We believe in the power of the animal-human bond and want to enable others to use this wonderful resource.
Whether a child or young person is struggling with trust, attachment or behavioural issues, we support and nurture them through compassion, understanding, positive life experiences and fun, and we can teach you how to do the same, using the magical power of animals.
Relationships
Animals
Kids
What is it that draws humans to animals? Animals generally return the love you lavish on them. They are reliable, full of love, honest in their affections and predictable in their actions. Their loyalty and consistency teaches humans to trust, care and to give love back. This is what many children have not been given and animals can help to fill this gap.
‘’The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world’’. Parenting is the most important job in the world, the most rewarding and possibly the most challenging. Our childhood relationships, attachments and parent’s attunement to us create our futures. We are products of our relationship. Sometimes these relationships need support and Noah's Ark Family Project works to support these family relationships.
Since the 1590’s we have called our children ‘’kids’’ - an affectionate term for this priceless gift to the world – the security for our futures. And yet their value in society is sometimes diminished. They are used, hurt and worse. BUT there is much good, kindness, care and support available to children who may need a helping hand. Noah's Ark Family Project is part of that team.
